IDF force patrolling near southern border detect, defuse large explosive device snuggled across border. Suspect flees scene

Cleared for publication: IDF soldiers were able to thwart a terror attack on the Israel-Egypt border on Thursday, just two days after another attack in the area was prevented.

Just like in the previous incident, the soldiers found a bag with a large explosive device near the Egypt border.The device was detected during a routine patrol in the area. The soldiers identified suspicious activity near the fence and began pursuing a suspect. They initiated the suspect detention protocol but the man was able flee into the Sinai Peninsula.

The area was closed off while additional military forces were called in to canvass it for any suspicious activity. They eventually managed to locate the bag and neutralize the device.  Read more.
